Biography & Career Highlights

Honorary River Rat canine reserve mascot Shadow LaBreche was acquired by the family in February 2003 from St. Francis Animal Rescue of Forest Lake via an adoption event at Pet Smart in Oakdale, Minnesota.  Since his acquisition, Shadow has playfully amused both his owners and fellow canine companion Bozo with silly behavior, cat chasing, and back-up guard duty.  Notoriously silent except when greeting strange dogs, Shadow is suspicious of smaller children and even smaller dogs.  While initially trained to be a bird-dog, Shadow apparently became extremely gun-shy and seems to have been physically abused by his previous owner(s).  Fortunately for us, the LaBreches are not a hunting family and are more than happy to have Shadow around for his retrieving and comedy skills.
